		<description>I agree with the points you have raised in this article. I think there are many ways in which laptops can be effectively used during lectures to support learning, but the problem is that many teachers are still struggling to understand the impact of technology on teaching and learning. I am an ex-teacher, working with teachers on upskilling them in ICT, especially in the use of online learning environments. It sometimes feels like I&#039;m trying to push water uphill.

It can be hard and frustrating for the teacher to have to learn a new way of teaching, of having to think how to integrate a new factor into their classroom. But I can also imagine how frustrating it must be to the students to have to sit through a lecture that is delivered in an out-dated way, when they know it can be so much more interesting if the teacher would only try and meet them on their terms.

No wonder they play online poker, if the alternative is a slow death by boredom.</description>

		<description>As someone with dysgraphia I would rather a professor or workshop leader take away my glasses than my laptop. Do I frequently have multiple windows open during a workshop or lecture - Yes. If the content is relevant and useful I&#039;m already intergrating it into my lesson plans. If it isn&#039;t I&#039;m putting the time to good use and working on my lesson plans. (I teach technology to elementary students)</description>
