This article looks at how Purdue University’s “renewed” strategic plan would focus on improving IT operations, including a reevaluation of the school’s IT governance structure and an expansion of its strategic sourcing efforts. This article is interesting because it focuses on how to move from ‘effective’ IT operations to ‘efficient’ IT operations, with a special focus on what needs to be centralised and what needs to be decided at the ‘edge’.
