Keith Hampson’s Higher Education Management Group site has an interesting posting of Wired Magazine’s video about a new digital biology textbook costing $10 million to develop that will be given away free. (Don’t ask me to explain the business model). From what little that can be judged from the video, though, the digital book did look fascinating with lots of animations and simulations built in.

I’d love to do the same kind of thing for my new book, but the publisher didn’t bite when I made this suggestion. It seems the problem was the $10 million that I asked for. (Typical post-recession response).
