Lederman, S. (2010) Is Higher Ed ready to change? Inside Higher Education, November 17
This excellent article, based on reports from several recent conferences in the USA, suggests that despite a lot of denial and empty talk about change, there are signs that at least institutional leaders are recognizing the need for significant change, driven mainly by the changed economic circumstances in the USA, where state governments are cutting budgets.
How this change will manifest itself, and what actions will be taken to bring about change, were not addressed in the article, but recognizing and accepting that there is a problem are the first two steps to resolving it.
