As part of the celebrations of 60 years of distance education at UBC, Kelsey Beninger has written a fascinating history of distance education going back to the start of UBC in 1918. For anyone interested in the origins and history of distance education, this is an essential read.
This posting goes as far as 1956. I believe there are two more articles to come that will cover the period from 1956 to the present day.
