The University of Manitoba’s Learning Technologies Centre and the Division of Extended Education are pleased to announce an exciting new Interdisciplinary Certificate in Emerging Technologies for Learning.

This 216 hour online certificate program explores the changing landscape of technology, information, communication, fostering discussion on how these trends impact learning and teaching.

Interested individuals may register for the certificate or for single courses of particular interest.

Required Courses

* Introduction to Emerging Technologies (35 hours)- NOTE: Course is offered February 9 – April 30, 2009.
* Connectivism, Networked Learning, and Connective Knowledge (36.5 hours)
* Instructional Design (35 hours) – NOTE: Course is offered March 9 – May 29, 2009.
* Program Planning (37.5 hours)

Plus 2 elective courses from the following list

* Digital literacy (36 hours)
* Facilitation (36 hours)
* Making sense in abundance: Visualization and other coping techniques (36 hours)
* Mobile Learning (36 hours)
* Immersive Worlds, Avatars, and Second Lives (36 hours)
* Open Educational Resources (36 hours)
* Future Directions and Trends (36 hours)
